  1. The ECSTAT program is a small econometrics program, written in basic, for
  2. use on the IBM Personal Computer.  The package consists of nine files,
  3. this one (READ.ME) and:

  5.   ECSTAT1.BAS - the first program segment
  6.  
  7.   ECSTAT2.BAS - the second program segment
  8.  
  9.   ECSTAT.BAT - a batch file for loading BASICA and running the program
  10.  
  11.   ECSTAT.MAN - a 20 page manual describing the operation of the program
  12.  
  13.   PRINTMAN.BAT -  a batch file for printing the manual
  14.  
  15.   SAMPLE.DAT - a sample ECSTAT data file
  16.  
  17.   SAMPLE.DOC - a brief description of the data in SAMPLE.DAT
  18.  
  19.   LONGLEY.DAT - The Longley data set, in ECSTAT form, for
  20.                 benchmarking.

  22. Format a blank disk and transfer the system files and BASICA to it.
  23. Copy the ECSTAT programs to the disk.
  24.  
  25. Place the program disk in the default drive, do NOT write-protect
  26. the disk, and USE ONLY CAPITAL LETTERS.  To run the program from PC-DOS
  27. type  ECSTAT .
